CERAMIC NON-STICK COATING BASED SYSTEMS

Another fluoropolymer-free coating (i.e. without PFAS and PTFE) is the sol-gel coating. These are characterized by lower curing conditions and are an ecological and more economical alternative to fluoropolymer coatings. In addition, the color range is much wider and brilliant colors are possible.

The coatings are very hard and scratch resistant, but very brittle. Unlike fluoropolymers, siloxanes are responsible for the non-stick properties of sol-gel coatings. This type of coating is produced in a reaction of two or three components and therefore requires good preparation.
