CERAMIC NON-STICK COATING BASED SYSTEMS

Another fluoropolymer-free coating (i.e. without intentionally added PFAS and PTFE) is the sol-gel coating. This sol-gel coating requires a lower curing temperature than the fluoropolymer coatings compared here. In addition, the color range is much wider and brilliant colors are possible.

The coatings are very hard and scratch resistant, but very brittle. Unlike fluoropolymers, siloxanes are responsible for the non-stick properties of sol-gel coatings. This type of coating is produced in a reaction of two or three components and therefore requires good preparation.
