Responsible action

Economical, ecological and social

We want to play an active role in shaping the transformation of the chemical industry towards greater sustainability. Our goal is minimizing the negative impact of our production on the environment and the people around us and to build a healthier and better future for us all. We are driven by the need to overcome global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and environmental pollution. We develop more sustainable products, improve our value chains, and are constantly working to keep our carbon footprint down.

Go future – our strategy for greater sustainability since 2014

Our definition of “GO Future” is:
„We live up to our commitment to people and the environment by providing new coatings that are based on sustainable raw materials. We aim at using alternative raw materials as the earliest possible point once this is technically possible and permitted by regulations.“

Health-friendly non-stick coatings

  • Guaranteed pollutant-free products*
  • Free from SVHC substances as well as GenX, APEO, BPA, and NMP

* A substance of very high concern (SVHC) is a chemical substance (or part of a group of chemical substances) for the use of which in the European Union an authorization has been proposed under the REACH Regulation. The criterion “of concern” is important in that this designation permits the regulation of substances that are, for example, neurotoxic or endocrine disrupting that or otherwise pose an unforeseen health risk to the environment under REACH.

Considered and economical use of all resources

  • Moving to use of renewable energies at the Swiss site
  • Voluntary CO2 compensation at all ILAG sites. CO2 emissions (heating, electricity, and mobility) are offset via the KMU Clima foundation
  • Recovery: The cooling water and its exhaust heat are used in a circulation system, among other things as heating energy, in the production process

Healthy working environment for producers and processors

  • Reduction of substances with hazardous properties in the entire raw material and coating production for the health and safety of employees
  • Increased use of water-dilutable coating systems

Long-lived products – another aspect of sustainability for ILAG

  • Three to five times improved abrasion resilience than other non-stick coatings*
  • Better and longer-term non-stick effect – even at the most intensive use – than comparable coating systems*

* As documented by the results of a number of industry standard tests
