Coating technology developed without the intentional use of PFAS

ILAG develops select non-stick systems for consumer goods without the intentional use of PFAS in the coating formulation. For us, the focus is not on sensational claims, but on technical transparency, product performance, and responsible communication. For years, we have strived to develop products and solutions for our customers that are user-friendly and innovative. We respond proactively to potential changes in legislation and offer, for example, coatings featuring PFAS-free technology. Selected PFAS-free coatings are specifically free of organically bound fluorine, contain no SVHC substances, and are manufactured in a resource-efficient manner. The coatings are also free of BPA, NMP, and APEO.

Our approach

PFAS is not a single substance, but rather a large group of substances. Precise language is therefore essential. ILAG therefore explicitly describes PFAS-related properties in terms of specific technologies: the focus is on development, formulation, and the actual coating—not on general statements that could be applied to the entire end product.

What this means for our coatings

For selected systems, this means that PFAS are not intentionally used in the development and formulation of the coating.

This allows for a more technically precise statement than broad consumer claims. At the same time, it remains crucial to specify exactly what the statement refers to: the coating technology—not automatically every other component or the entire product available on the market.

Why we use precise language

When it comes to consumer-related statements, accurate context is especially important. A statement about a coating can easily be interpreted by the market as a statement about the entire product. That is why ILAG relies on clear, technology-based language rather than absolute or advertising-driven simplifications.
